2017 MCPS Superintendent's Breakfast Event
Featuring on-stage conversation with HHMI President Erin O'Shea
Join Superintendent Jack R. Smith, and his fellow Directors of the
Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation for the second annual Breakfast with the Superintendent event. This year's event will focus on STEM careers in academia and industry.
STEM professionals are asked to spend time discussing their work with MCPS juniors and seniors interested in STEM disciplines and careers while having breakfast. Joining the confab is Dr. Erin O'Shea, president, Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). Dr. O'Shea will talk about her personal pathway to becoming a research scientist and investigative research at the frontier of science.

About Erin K. O’Shea, Ph.D.:
Dr. O’Shea joined Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) in 2013 from Harvard University, where she was director of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences Center for Systems Biology. In 2016 she was appointed President of HHMI, the first woman to hold the position. Read her full biography.
