A Student Wellness Event & Golf Tournament

On Monday, November 7, the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation (Foundation) will host a wellness rally for students enrolled in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). The Golf FORE'EM will bring 340 middle school students to Topgolf-Germantown on a non-instruction school day for three hours of fun as they celebrate wellness and try their hand at golf. Three weeks earlier on October 24, 2022, the Foundation will host a happy-hour golf tournament to raise more funds to support Foundation-sponsored student activities on non-instructional school days.  

The two-part event is in support of Montgomery County Public Schools, which is joining a national trend in keeping students engaged on non-instructional school days.  This student engagement is especially important as students return to in-person instruction following the disruption of school attendance during the COVID-19 health crisis.  On non-instructional days, MCPS students are now offered opportunities to participate in virtual and in-person experiences that extend their learning or encourage them to focus on wellness.

MCPS Golf Fore'em

Monday, November 7, 2022 - 10 AM - 1 PM

The Golf Fore'em will bring 340 middle school students to Topgolf-Germantown on a non-instruction school day for three hours of fun as they celebrate wellness and try their hand at golf. 

Middle school students will be organized into teams of five representing their school.  A golf team member from the cluster high school will play along and give them pointers to increase their scores. The teams will play in assigned bays on the Lower and Main Levels of the facility. 

Topgolf bays are partially enclosed, climate-controlled, covered, driving range tees. It takes extreme weather conditions to stop play.  Each bay will hold six student players and two MCPS staff to provide supervision.  A profile is created for each player; everything else -- from getting your golf ball to keeping track of the score is done automatically through hi-tech software.

During the Golf Fore'em Topgolf-Germantown will be closed to the general public. MCPS Golf TOURNAMENT

Monday, October 24, 2022 - 4 PM - 7 PM

Join the Directors of the Foundation and Superintendent of Schools Monifa B. McKnight, Ed.D. for a three-hour golf-a-thon to raise funds for more student activities to ensure that students continue to learn and thrive through experiences offered when school is not in session. 

The Golf Tournament will take place on the third level of Topgolf-Germantown. Each golf bay is a climate-controlled, partially covered driving range that holds six players plus two spectators. Golf Clubs are available as part of each player's registration; or, players may bring their own clubs.

A profile will be set up for each player prior to the shotgun start. Through hi-tech software balls are assigned to each player and are dispensed from a machine as each player prepares to tee off. Scoring is tracked electronically and displayed on the monitor in each bay. Prizes will be awarded for the top scorer and winners of special contests within the tournament.

We are offering three registration levels:

  • AP Level $500/player
  • Honors Level Registration is $250/player
  • Charity Partner Registration is $125/player

Each registration level has its own special swag bag.  The higher the registration fee, the more items in the bag AND the more you help the cause.
