Instructions for making a gift of securities to the MCPS Educational Foundation

Step One

Send your broker a letter of instruction directing the transfer of securities into the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation’s account. Specify the name of the stock and the number of shares you wish to transfer. Your broker will need the following information to complete the transfer:

Step Three

The Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. will acknowledge your gift in writing. The fair market value of your gift of securities is determined by the average of the high and low stock price on the date that the gift is made multiplied by the number of shares transferred.
